
Devil Jam is a top-down survivor roguelite where players control a rock star wielding up to twelve weapons at once to survive relentless waves of monsters.
On this project, we delivered the full sound design and worked on the FMOD implementation. The audio direction focused on making heavy metal music and combat gameplay SFX coexist clearly in a very dense mix, using mixing strategies based of frequencies rather than classic side-chaining. We also designed a modular audio system able to handle multiple simultaneous power-ups without fatigue or loss of clarity, while building distinct sonic identities for each power family and ensuring all key actions remain tightly synchronized with the game’s on-beat mechanics.
