
Vail VR is a competitive multiplayer VR shooter requiring high technical reliability and precise spatial perception.
Our main mission was to build a voice chat system from scratch in Wwise, addressing complex technical challenges caused by race conditions between Unreal gameplay code and Wwise callbacks. We also carried out extensive fine-tuning of Wwise spatial audio features, including reflections, occlusion, obstruction and room transitions, to achieve believable positioning and acoustic behavior in VR. In parallel, the project required maintaining an efficient production workflow while collaborating with the development team across multiple time zones.
