
God of Rock blends rhythm gameplay with fighting game mechanics in intense one-on-one matches, where players face off as iconic fighters inspired by real musicians with the music itself evolving in complexity as the battle unfolds.
Our main challenge was to merge rhythm game and fighting game sound designs into one single and coherent audio experience. We designed a strong and distinctive audio identity for each character, balancing the game’s lore with clear references to their real-world musical inspirations. A key focus was also placed on gameplay readability: conveying critical combat information through sound, while players are already fully engaged in listening to the music and staying on beat.
