Metasound Presets & Patches Pack

A content pack for Unreal Engine 5.5+ of Metasound presets and patches that gives quick and easy access to the most common implementation design patterns in game audio.

Why Use This Tool?

“Metasounds are not just an implementation environment, they're a design environment.” Yet in game audio, most implementation follows a handful of common designs. This pack provides professionally crafted presets for those designs, alongside useful patches and a runtime debugging tool for faster, easier implementation.

  • Modular Design Patterns: Whether a musical playlist, a scatterer, loops that change depending on distance, or simply a random one-shot, all of the included design patterns boast modular options such as fade time, random start time, pitch randomization, and more.
  • Thoughtful Alternative to Presets: This pack uses an alternative to metasound presets, called “containers”, that allow the user to have a very quick copy & paste workflow while working with Metasound’s visual interface.
  • Integrated Debug Logging: All source graphs have integrated debug logging that can be toggled with a simple logging actor component.

How It Works

This pack streamlines game audio implementation through a modular, container-based architecture designed for speed and flexibility using native unreal features.

  • Modular design patterns: Use professionally crafted logic as individual nodes to instantly add features like random pitch shifting, timed crossfades, and distance-based looping to your own MetaSounds.
  • Container-based workflow: Skip complex graph setup by duplicating simplified "containers" as your baseline that reference the more complex and visually overwhelming “source graphs”.

Unreal native systems: Whether it’s the metasound “containers” or the debug actor components, this content pack uses native unreal systems to stay familiar and efficient.
