Unreal Mixing Interface

Why Use This Tool?

UMI gives you a console-style mixing view in Unreal, all your submix faders and realtime meters in one place, plus live tweaking of Audio Modulation Control Bus Mixes, so you can mix the whole project without hunting through individual uassets.

  • Plug & Play: UMI automatically detects your submix hierarchy when launched and will display it to you without any setup needed. It also automatically detects when any control bus mixes are activated, allowing you to keep track of what is influencing your soundscape.
  • Realtime Metering: UMI’s meter values change in realtime, accurately representing the audio levels of your game’s soundscape.
  • Realtime Mixing: Each submix and control bus mix stage can be controlled with faders that affect the levels in realtime, allowing you to instantly hear the difference. No change is permanent until you make it so.

How It Works

UMI interfaces both with your submix hierarchy and the audio modulation plugin to give you a simple yet powerful mixing setup.

  • Mirrors Your Submix Tree: On launch, UMI reads your project's submix hierarchy and builds a matching Mixing Console of strips in the center panel, with a Submix List on the left for navigation and visibility toggling (shown, hidden, or passthrough to collapse parents into their children).
  • Writes Directly to Uassets: oving a fader or typing a value immediately updates the underlying submix uasset and you hear the change live — edits stay in memory until you save, so a mixing session is non-destructive until you commit it.
  • Intuitive Control Bus Mix Integration: While the game plays, active Control Bus Mixes appear in the right-side CBM List; selecting one recolors the affected mixing strips and rebinds their faders from submix level to the Control Bus value driving that submix, letting you author CBM snapshots through the same interface.
